The Apple Watch Series 8 is a notable option for fitness trackers in 2024 because of its vast feature set that caters to both tech fans and those who are health-conscious.

Its finger controllers are one of the most notable breakthroughs. Now, you can use basic motions like pinch, double pinch, grip, and double grip to carry out a variety of orders. For example, you can access the Action Menu by closing your hand twice, go ahead with a single pinch, and go back with a double pinch. Every movement the watch detects is followed by haptic feedback, which adds to the interaction’s responsiveness and naturalness.

Another field where the Series 8 succeeds is in security. As long as you wear the watch, it stays unlocked after you input your password. The watch automatically locks when you take it off, protecting your data and saving you from having to keep entering your password. Convenience and security are perfectly balanced by this feature.

The Series 8’s seamless integration with other Apple products further improves your digital experience. When you switch on the screen of your MacBook, it may unlock right away if your watch is on. In a similar vein, your watch can unlock your iPhone if Face ID is unable to identify you. Your interactions with your devices are made simpler by this integration, which also makes daily tasks a little easier.

The always-on LTPO display, which has a 400 Hz refresh rate, is another noteworthy feature. This means that you can enjoy smooth graphics without using up all of your battery life. The watch feels more expensive since each of its many faces has its own always-on display setting. For an added personal touch, watch faces may be changed right from the watch or using the Watch app on your iPhone.

The Apple Watch Series 8 has an activity app with three rings for measuring fitness: Move, Exercise, and Stand. You should avoid sitting for longer than an hour at a time, walk 5–6 kilometers per day, and exercise for at least 35 minutes to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You may stay motivated and on track with your exercise objectives by completing these rings. The new medicine app also reminds you when it’s time to take your prescription, which helps you maintain better health.

All things considered, the Apple Watch Series 8 is a remarkable option for anyone wishing to improve their daily routines and fitness in 2024 because it blends cutting-edge capabilities with useful functionality.

The Fitbit Charge 5 comes in second place on our list of the Top 3 Fitness Trackers You Should Purchase in 2024. One of the greatest affordable fitness trackers ever made is this particular model. Following a month of testing, it’s clear why the Charge 5 is well-liked. The Charge 5 offers a comprehensive fitness tracking experience with its impressive array of features, which includes blood oxygen monitoring, electrodermal activity (EDA) scans, built-in GPS, heart rate variability (HRV) tracking, water resistance up to 50 meters, and a vibrant AMOLED screen. Because it works with both iOS and Android, it’s a flexible option that may be used by a variety of users.

The Fitbit Charge 5’s long five-day battery life is one of its best qualities. At less than $500, it provides outstanding value for the money. One particularly noticeable feature is the automated sleep function. To avoid distractions at night, it successfully switches off the screen and motion detection after a preset amount of time. This function reduces the possibility of accidentally waking your companion or yourself, a problem that many other fitness trackers have.

The Charge 5 offers a superb user experience as well. Even someone with no prior computer experience can navigate it easily thanks to its easy swipe controls and intuitive UI. Its functionality is not affected by its simplicity because it still has a wide range of features. The Fitbit Charge 5 has an eye-catching progress bar that changes color as you reach your objectives for tracking your activity levels, steps taken, and calories burned.

Advanced health functions are available on the Charge 5, going beyond basic fitness tracking. In addition to tracking heart rate variability and sleep habits, it offers a daily readiness score that enables you to assess your level of physical fitness. For runners and walkers, the integrated GPS makes it easy to track your journeys without using your phone. It also has features including an oxygen saturation monitor, a skin temperature sensor, and ECG functionality—features usually associated with more expensive devices. Even though after six months some of the more advanced capabilities need a membership, the overall value is still quite good when compared to other high-end fitness trackers.

It’s important to keep in mind, though, that the heart rate monitor may not always be accurate during intense exercise, sometimes missing whole times of high heart rate. This can be something to think about if you value tracking outside endurance activities or exact exercise statistics. Additionally, the HRV tracking may be irregular changing day by day. Furthermore, the Fitbit Charge 5 might move around during the night, which could have an impact on the precision of health and sleep data.

To sum up, the Fitbit Charge 5 is a reliable and easy-to-use fitness tracker that offers a wide range of features at a reasonable cost. For people who want to improve their fitness and health journey without having to deal with the complexity of advanced technology, it’s a great option. Its value, usability, and functionality combine to make it one of the best fitness trackers for 2024.

5.0 out of 5 stars Junk, do not buy! Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2024 Color: Graphite/BlackVerified Purchase I've been a long time user of fitbit. Probably 5+years. Always been happy until purchasing the charge 5. I've had nothing but problems with it (and I've bought 3 in the last 2 years thinking it was just a faulty watch)! Heart rate monitor doesn't function properly, doesn't track sleep properly(Says I sleep 1.5 hours a night at least 5x a week, I get between 5-7 hours a night!) Trips out frequently, shutting off at random times. Says water resistant up to 50 meters, says you can shower and swim with it. Complete lies! So glad I purchased the insurance with this because I've used it 4x in the last year trying to "fix" this piece of garbage watch! Finally just refunded after the watch took another dump on me after doing 3 laps in a pool. Guess they're sick of fixing it too! Buyers please do your research and steer clear of fitbit products!! Customer service is an absolute joke as well! The insurance company helped me finally thank God! Will never buy another Fitbit EVER! Researching new watches as I type this out!

1.0 out of 5 stars This is my last Fitbit ever - do some research, get something else Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2023 Color: Graphite/BlackVerified Purchase I've been a loyal Fitbit user since the Flex came out. I've had the Flex 2, Charge 2, Charge 3, Charge 4 and was gifted a Charge 5. For the most part, each new model was better than the last and was well appointed with features and had a lifetime of just short of the warranty. Until now. The 5 is a poor "upgrade" to the 4. I should have requested something else by a better manufacturer. All the cool new things it can do seem to be part of the premium package that you have to pay for via subscription. I say "seem" because I refuse to give them my credit card for the 6-month "free trial" so I don't get to use the 6-month free trial. The user community is full of people who signed up for the free trial, were charged immediately and now can't cancel. I opted to not go down that path so I didn't sign up and now I feel as though half of what the Charge 5 can do is simply wasted. Telling Time: this thing isn't a watch because all the "clock faces" were designed by children so they are unreadable. Stylistically, they're cool but you can't actually read them. Not being able to at least use the Charge 5 to get the time is ridiculous. Alarms: these are tricky to set because you can only do so on the Charge 5 and not via the app. You also have to wait several minutes between setting different alarms because otherwise, it thinks you're attempting to modify the ones you already have. Also, they don't always go off when they should. Stairs: the Charge 5 no longer counts stairs (altimeter?) so that's a bummer. Sensitivity: tapping on the pebble face should "wake up" the Charge 5. Be patient because it takes quite awhile and a lot of tapping. And sometimes your definition of "light" isn't the same as Fitbit's.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works just fine. Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2024 Color: Graphite/BlackVerified Purchase This tracks your activity, and it provides several other pieces of medical information such as O2 levels, heartbeat, and much more. It does have some mild flaws: The GPS will stop working on your walk, even though it is connected via Bluetooth to your phone, and the phone's GPS is available and correct. It also tends to be overly optimistic about how far you have walked, by about 10% or so. There is one additional feature that they could add which would be very beneficial to many people, myself included: They could track the O2 levels while you sleep, and detect sleep apnea. This is a serious problem which requires medical treatment, and is difficult to detect without something like this.

During a 24-hour test, the Garmin Forerunner 945 really shocked me, proving why it’s one of the greatest fitness trackers to think about in 2024. This watch appeals to both tech-savvy consumers and fitness enthusiasts because it maintains an amazing mix between comfort, functionality, and advanced capabilities.

I was right away taken aback by the Forerunner 945’s lightweight and cozy design when I put it on. Even after doing prolonged activities like hiking and yoga, the watch hardly felt like it was on my wrist. I had no pain or trouble sleeping, which is evidence of its well-thought-out design. The watch’s buttons are tactile and comfortable to the touch, and its bright, vibrant display and simple functions make for an easy-to-use interface that is quick to browse.

The screen size was one of my first worries, especially considering that I had used the Garmin Fenix 6, which had a different screen design. But the display on the Forerunner 945 turned out to be more than sufficient. Its excellent color accuracy and clarity make it simple to observe measurements, read notifications, and navigate menus. The user experience was unaffected even though the screen was little smaller than what I was used to.

The functionality of the Garmin Forerunner 945 is excellent. It allows Android users to reply to texts and read notifications right from their watch. Even without the ability to reply to SMS, iPhone owners can still take advantage of other capabilities. Additionally, the watch has music management capabilities that let you store music files and manage playback from your phone. You may even download playlists for offline listening, as Spotify and other music services are supported.

The wide selection of pre-built activities available on the Forerunner 945 is one of its best features. In contrast to alternative Garmin models like the Venu or Vivoactive 4, the Forerunner 945 includes separate profiles for climbing, yoga, hiking, and triathlons. Time, distance, elevation, and speed are just a few of the essential parameters that can be displayed on each unique activity profile. This degree of specificity guarantees precise tracking that is suited to the task you are performing.

Impressive mapping skills are also offered by the watch. It offers comprehensive maps with trail names and geographic data, making it possible to navigate with confidence even in places with spotty phone service. For those who enjoy being outside, this feature is priceless because it keeps you on course without requiring you to check your phone frequently.

All things considered, the Garmin Forerunner 945 has shown to be an excellent fitness tracker. With its ease of use, cutting-edge features, and complete tracking capabilities, it’s a great option for anyone hoping to improve their fitness in 2024.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite the upgrade from my 920XT ! Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2024 Color: Black and Powder GrayVerified Purchase Pretty quick learning curve to pick up 75% of the features that you'll use on a daily basis. Lots of customization available to arrange the functions and data to your liking . The other 25% of features in there you'll either not need, or can just dive into later! Beautiful colorful well-lit display. Lots of nice watch faces to scroll through depending on your mood and more are downloadable. Super battery life so far ! Wrist-based HR monitor is accurate when I compare it to the data from my chest strap. Only complaint is the crystal seems to be a magnet for scratches. Wish i would've purchased a screen protector because I already have a few small scratches. But really only visible if you're LOOKING for them, otherwise love my new Garmin! It's motivating me to fill it with workout data!

1.0 out of 5 stars This is my last Fitbit ever - do some research, get something else Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2023 Color: Graphite/BlackVerified Purchase Rob Moore 5.0 out of 5 stars A comfortable & light upgrade Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2024 Color: Black and Powder GrayVerified Purchase I was previously using the Garmin Forerunner 235 for the past 7 years & decided to upgrade. There are a ton more features, it doesn't feel any heavier than my older 235, & wearing this daily / nightly gives great health data. Great battery & well worth the purchase price if you wear this watch on a daily basis. My only gripe with this new watch is with the recommended daily workouts that Garmin puts out. If you start one of these workouts & have a pace faster than the recommended workout pace, it will constantly buzz/beep at you to slow down. I'd love a way to adjust the pace target for those recommended workouts, but it's a really minor inconvenience in an otherwise fantastic watch. All the cool new things it can do seem to be part of the premium package that you have to pay for via subscription. I say "seem" because I refuse to give them my credit card for the 6-month "free trial" so I don't get to use the 6-month free trial. 5.0 out of 5 stars Buy once, cry once-have one of the best watches out there. Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2024 Color: Black and Powder GrayVerified Purchase If you're going to buy a Garmin, spend the extra money for the FR965. This thing is a beast. The battery lasts forever. Like literally a month. It seems to be pretty accurate outdoors. The treadmill stuff takes some pretty significant calibration but I don't mind that. It's durable. I scratch watches up regularly and I've had this watch for nearly 6 months and the screen is still flawwless and I haven't babied it at all.
